$2.5T annual direct value of the ocean economy. $58T in coastal assets at physical risk. 55% of global GDP dependent on healthy natural systems.Every result we generate contributes to reversing that exposure — one verified data point at a time.
Port infrastructure generates hard, ecologically sterile surfaces across significant intertidal areas. AD Ports Group needed to meet biodiversity obligations without impacting operational continuity or requiring additional footprint.
Archireef co-developed and deployed Eco SeaWall Panels at AD Ports Group facilities — the first application of biodiversity-enhancing marine infrastructure at scale in the region. Reef Tile deployment was integrated alongside, with a blue carbon strategy connecting both interventions to AD Ports' broader ESG and UAE net-zero commitments.
9°C surface temperature reduction across Abu Dhabi sites
3.6× biodiversity uplift recorded
620% increase in fish abundance vs unrestored seabed within 6 months
Framework for ongoing blue carbon reporting established
Hong Kong's marine parks face compounding pressure from urban runoff, thermal stress, and sedimentation — conditions that make conventional coral restoration largely ineffective. AFCD required a science-grade solution that could demonstrate measurable biodiversity recovery in a complex regulatory and public environment.
Archireef deployed Reef Tiles across designated marine park sites, paired with eDNA monitoring for non-invasive species detection and photogrammetry to track coral growth over time. A public education component was integrated, leveraging Archireef's visible, accessible restoration infrastructure.
260% average increase in coral growth during the first 3 years post-deployment
90%+ coral survivorship over project lifetime
eDNA monitoring confirmed species return and community recovery
Established as a model programme for urban marine restoration in high-density environments
